I'm wondering if it's possible to receive a positive decision while outside the country ?? And how it goes if that happened ?? Do you still be able to use your RP to return to Finland?
" Outside meaning 3-4 weeks trip"
Just inform that about your dates and they will hold your decision during those dates.

Congratz. That was pretty quick though 😁 Do you come from another EU country lol?
Ukraine actually, was surprised myself how fast it went. Wasn't ask for any additional information before decision was made

Don’t be surprised. I have been telling this that many countries get the priorities in queue and for sure Ukranian would be one of those 😁

I don't think the results are based on the countries you're coming from. It's more likely the application was rather simple. It would be pretty strange if they start choosing applicants and modify queues on the basis of their home country. And it took a bit over 4 months, which is kinda average time to receive decisions. :beer_yum:

It took a bit over 4 months when many applications have been in stage 1 for over 7 month. Why I am pretty sure about certain nationalities getting prioritized is based on constant observation amongs friends and friends of friends who come from different countries. I woud have agreed wirh you about the application being simple, if at least many other applications had gone to at least Stage 2. Whether or not you guys agree, but my conviction is too strong about it 😁

It is pretty okay to tell stories to yourself to make yourself calm, but unfortunately it doesn't really becomes the truth. Maybe couple of 100 people telling their stories in this forum, but there should be around couple of 1000s who are applying for their citizenships on daily basis, to do the math you will need to gather all the data to finally reached to a conclusion.

Out of curiosity, what nationalities do you think are being prioritized?

Make yourself calm? That’s also merely your assumption mate. What I am telling you is not stories (not becoming truth as you stated). Rather, a very valid personal observation which many people even agree with. You have all the right to disagree with me but I say this on the basis of solid personal observation ! What nationalities get prioritized? Well, for example a US guy I have known got the citizenship decision in under 2 month (this was when normally other applicants were getting their decisions in 5-6 months). Then, the applicants already from another EU countries and even in Asian countries, some nationalities have it processed faster than the others.

Let me even share an article with you that was published on YLE news. Even though that doesn’t talk about application processing time or anything but certainly highlights the nationalities being prioritized by Migri. This nationality screening shouldn’t be too difficult to digest !

Just a little correction to your numbers: last year there were 10217 applications for citizenship and 1076 declarations.

umm yes? Why would you tell stories to yourself otherwise?
valid personal observation which many people even agree with.
Just because people agree with you, it has to be correct? If more people would agree with you the better?
What nationalities get prioritized? Well, for example a US guy I have known got the citizenship decision in under 2 month
Cool, more than 10,000 applications last year and 1 guy from USA got it in 2 months, yep of course he is treated like a king. I have known a guy from US, he has been waiting for 4 months now. Which I think has been the average time since last year. So your US guy vs my US guy.. who is the real US guy?
the applicants already from another EU countries and even in Asian countries, some nationalities have it processed faster than the others.
And unfortunately that article doesn't do any favors to your claim. Both are totally different stuff. Citizenship has nothing to do with the people who are applying for their first permit from abroad.

At the end.. umm.. why be informed when you can use your feelings as your facts.

Well, if you had read my earlier comments, you wouldn’t have brought an example of a US guy waiting for 4 months. Maybe, it’s you who needs to calm down here and go through the entire thread than being so judgemental here. Take a chill pill mate !

Haha ! My decision is finally ready but I am out of Finland now so they have held it until I return back in April :D They had asked me my passport and sent me the passport the same day they received because of my trip :D So you can assume it took around 7.5 month in total (which I suppose is not bad for this season) :D

How they "held" a decision ? Like do you get a "stage 3" decision
Is ready or they keep you on stage 2 until you're back ?
