I had an offer to work in the field of my study/interest. But Finnish citizenship required, the guy who approached me thought i already have citizenship and asked me for an interview. Just couldn't overcome the grief this whole week.
I can understand your situation...delay in citizenship application has blocked many options for me too.....but migri don't understand it.
My application has completed 11 months now (even the extended time limit from migri) but there is no progress at all.....

Was this working for the state? Even with state positions there are only some that require Finnish citizenship. Everything else is illegal discrimination and should be reported.

A friend of mine just got his citizenship today. He applied in February 18 2019. It entered Stage 2 on Tuesday and got his citizenship decision today. They didn't asked him any additional information. The last time he updatd his application was 6 months when they asked for general update.

Someone in Russian forum reported that he just got citizenship after 8.5 months of waiting, so he applied in May then, way after us.

My application has crossed 11 months. There is no reason for such a long time. Now I am thinking to register a complaint to Ombudsman.

Do you people think that Ombudsman can help me getting justice???

According to migri processing time checker in their website the estimated wait is 11-12 months. Ombudsman will not be able to do anything since you are not over the estimated time yet.

Someone got recently decision exactly after one year and couple of days and got negative, I don't kbow details, but it was because of residence time and hanging out in Germany a lot or freelance, with B permit at first. Probably if migri suspects you applied too early or even before you have lived full year with A permit, they will mark your application and it will be processed exactly after a year, because they have to give some decision rather than keep it for couple of years. Do you think you have barely lived here 4 years? Did you apply too early?

I have lived in Finland for 7 and half years, 3 years on B permit and 4 and a half years on A permit. So, I have sufficient time of residence even more than it is required. The only weak point of my application is that I have taken social security benefits for 1 year. Even then I was doing a part time job. Right now I am doing a part time job which might be a reason for delay....But if we see rules there is no such rule regarding citizenship application, but migri's rule are completely different. They follow their own rules which even we don't know...

Ok I'll wait for 1 more month in order to complete 12 months...but then??? Where to go if my application is still on hold??? Why migri is keeping mum over my application for last 11 months??? If they see any problem, why don'nt they tell me?? At least, it's my right to know what's wrong with my application? Is there any place where I could get justice?

If you talk about weak point for me I stayed one period of 11.5 months (less than a year) outside Finland. Lived here in total 4 years in B and 3 years in A now. (Excluding that 11.5 months). Other trips less than 1 month. Travelled 28 days, 30 days, 10 days, 3 days and 5 days (last 3 within Europe). Applied mid march and still stage 1. Are they even going to open my file?? Some of my friends applied on September got theirs already.
