What happens if I don't go for the anual inspection during the specified time?
e.g katsatus is from 1.5 - 15.06. But what if i am out of country and can't do it during that time.? What if I go 1-2 months after the dead line? Of course nobody would be drivng the car. it will be just standing.
Katsastus question
Re: Katsastus question
The car will just be checked and if ok you'll get the clearance till the next official time.Honest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 1:53 amWhat happens if I don't go for the anual inspection during the specified time?

It's legal to drive an uninspected car to the inspection. If caught in other type of use, you may get a fine and the register plates taken away.Honest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 1:53 amWhat happens if I don't go for the anual inspection during the specified time?

Re: Katsastus question
I think that is correct. Also be aware that you must not drive the car when you return (before you get it inspected) and you need to have an appointment before you drive the car to the inspection. I actually got stopped by the police last year when driving a car to get it inspected, but it was OK because I had an inspection appointment.
Re: Katsastus question
Oh, one other thing is where will the car be standing while you are away? I don't know the legal situation if it is parked on the public road after the Katsastus expires so you should check on that.
Re: Katsastus question
Thanks everybody. Very helpful and useful information. So actually not much to worry about
