old residence permit v permenant permit

Post by nicola jane » Thu Jan 31, 2019 9:04 am

Hi,
I came to Finland in 2006, registered with Police, so I am all legal! is there any point in me applying for a permenant residence permit if UK is leaving EU anyway?
I did not vote to leave...... and like everyone else, waiting...waiting....waiting for a decision on our status...
Thanks for any views.... Nicola.

You can't apply for residence permit now as you are EU citizen. Technically after 29th you'll need to apply for residence permit, but no one seems to know what the procedure will be. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a brexit deal that had all these issues addressed...

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

You shall register as EU citizens in Finland as long you can do it. This is the advice on Migri website.
