The brokerage firm I'm using now doesn't allow customers in Finland so I must clear out everything before moving here. What do people suggest? I wanted TD Ameritrade but it seems to have closed EU market recently.
only need access to US ETFs, other markets would be nice, but it's most important to have lowest or zero inactivity fee for small account. IB's feels high ($120/year!), while trading fee is irrelevant.
Or local banks? But if a person holds securities via Finnish banks, would it still be entitled to full insurance/protection as individual investor, such as those by SIPC in US? I used my country's bank before and they never revealed anything regarding insurance, a sign of untrustworthiness (they might be holding everything in their single account).

Re: US/International stock brokerage?
You can use TD ameritrade but outside of US it is cash only (no margin) which would work for you it seems. Where are you getting the 120/ year number from? They didn't ask me for any fees. But I do have market subscription and trade a lot so I pay much more than 120.
Re: US/International stock brokerage?
here => Monthly Activity Fee for Not Meeting Monthly Minimums, USD 10 for not trading in a month. I have stopped searching for new ETFs so right now my brokerage account is more like my saving/pension account. Zero activity, USD 10 * 12 months a year = $120.
I don't need margin trading. Will ask them about relocation Thanks a lot!
EDIT: okay TD requires physical mail for application. That's beyond ridiculous and probably too late given that I have only about one month.
