Hi there,
My 22yr old son is half-Finnish, half-French and is due to do military service this year but he has some mental health issues, mainly Aspergers / OCD but with some violent tendencies. He was once arrested in Finland (when he was a teenager) by the police as he was aggressive towards his sister and mother. He is on medication now and is hoping to pass his IB this year. I would like to know if there is any restriction to him doing military service as he has a history on mental health issues. He is keen to do military service, but we are not sure that he will be allowed considering his history and arrest in his teens.
Many thanks for any info,
Fred

Your question will be answered at the call-up, if not earlier at the health check-up (if the condition is such that it automatically results in being deemed not fit for service).
