Hi,
Does anyone know when inspectors read your card with their device, what kind of information will be displayed to them? E.g name, gender etc?
My friend will be visiting me for one month and I was wondering what is the risk if she uses my card during that time (considering I have valid seasonal ticket) . As I have mobile app and the card in no longer in use by me.
HSL ticket inspection
Re: HSL ticket inspection
what is the point of giving your friend the card? why not get her to use the app as well and buy a ticket that way (I assume your card has no valid season ticket on it). what's the benefit of her using the card to load a 30 day ticket on it compared to her getting the app and loading a 30 day ticket on it?As I have mobile app and the card in no longer in use by me

You need to be resident to be able to buy a 30 day ticket, with the card or with the app.riku2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 4:59 amwhat is the point of giving your friend the card? why not get her to use the app as well and buy a ticket that way (I assume your card has no valid season ticket on it). what's the benefit of her using the card to load a 30 day ticket on it compared to her getting the app and loading a 30 day ticket on it?As I have mobile app and the card in no longer in use by me
You need an internet connection to use the app, sometimes when you go abroad you don't have it.
If the card is a travel card then your name is on it and it's not legal for other people to use it.

They see everything, name, gender, birthday, etc.

Dont do illegal things lol
Re: HSL ticket inspection
The simplier solution are multi user tickets available:

Re: HSL ticket inspection
The card is bound to personal identity and home residence. They do inspect it on trains, not subway or bus.
Re: HSL ticket inspection
In Helsinki centre area, the ticket is sometimes checked in BUS. It is quite common in bus number 550. It is also checked in trams as well as in Subway (Metro).
Re: HSL ticket inspection
Personal experience! By inspection I mean they actually scan the card and read it. It doesn't happen on bus (you scan but nobody reads)

Happens on buses too. I think last time it was bus 37 for me. I have seen the inspections many times on every type of HSL service and on commuter trains as well. Get them their own ticket because if your name is on it, it could get you in trouble too. It isn’t that expensive for a second card.
Re: HSL ticket inspection
You are wrong, inspections happen also in buses (I mean an actual inspector comes to the bus and scans the card as they do in the train) and in other transport means.
If it doesn't happen to you it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Re: HSL ticket inspection
yep,
Got checked both in bus tram and metro. The whole deal...ALL on 1 day!!

If god would give us the source code, we could change the world
