Thanks, yes I was not expecting it at all since the average processing meant the decision was expected December / January. Maybe I was lucky enough to make it through the mentioned automated system...

Hi! Yours was too fast. May I know what kind of visa/permit you had before?

Is it possible to share a little about your circumstance, if that might have affected the time positively?
Like how long have you lived in Finland and other things like that which aren't too personal?

Thanks

- From a country that just left Europe (in theory only)
- Been here nearly 5 years
- Just finishing up a degree and only in full-time work for around a month before decision made

Not sure what else is relevant, I would have likely had the right to remain here anyway being that I came as an EU citizen. I have done bits of work here and there, mostly benefits. Have not spent any significant time out of the country.

Proved identity on October 30 2019

Decision came today 01.06.2020

Good luck to everyone and remember! When you become a Finnish citizen do whatever it takes to protect and prosper this country. As Finnish citizens this becomes our home and we need to care for it so it lasts.

Thanks!

Hi,

As far as I think the processing time really depends on country of origin.
I have proved my identity on 20th on January 2020 and still waiting, just like many more who are waiting for even very longer period (compared to me)
I can see in the forum someone who applied one day after me, already have received his or her decision.
I have been living here since 2012 and I moved to Finland for work and working here since then without interruptions .
I also have p type permit for few years already.

It may have to do with country of origin, only in the sense that you are on a permit, I already had indefinite right to remain. I admit I have no idea what a p permit is though. It may mean they need to do a few more checks or something. Good luck to you and everyone else waiting.

P type permit is permanent residence permit
I will give another example for the country of origin argument
I know 2 people from country x (non EU)
Both of them got the decision in three months
person 1 who has been living here for more than 20 years and has a stable job
person 2 , this is where it gets interesting as she is my partner
she came to finland with family ties to me
she submitted all the financial documents which are my salary slips and work contract
she already has citizenship on the grounds of family ties to me and I am waiting.

Hei,
Could you please tell us how much time it took from "in progress" status to decision in your case? My application is "in progress" since April, but there has been no request for additional information or anything, it's just kind of stuck there, and I am getting a bit inpatient :) Thanks so much!

If someone is in Finland on family ties, why is there a requirement to submit financial documents?
Migri wants to be sure you supported yourself legally while on residence permit from my understanding.

I know if one stuck since March in stage 2. Migri FAQ says they are working remotely and some citizenship applications cannot be processed while they are not in the office.

Hi heretostay,

Can you share a link to the page saying that "they are working remotely and some citizenship applications cannot be processed while they are not in the office."

Thank you!

Under citizenship
Hi
Did you see this Tweet on the Immigration's Twitter ?
"#Maahanmuuttovirasto n kansalaisuushakemuksissa osa-automaatio on ollut käytössä 4kk. Vajaan vuoden aikana vireille tulleisiin ja myönteisiin päätöksiin on tehty automaattinen päätösehdotus 94% hakemuksista. #automaatio #rpa #digitalisaatio".
They say that they have already fulfilled 94% of the applications.
