Hi there
Been in finland for just over a year now, moved over here with a job lined up which turned out to be a complete waste of time but was lucky to find a factory job soon after which due to health issues and lack of work available ended just before xmas
have training in kitchen, bar and resturant from entry level up to mangegment, call center exp (although it seems pointless in finland as i dont speak finnish yet), ground work exp from landscape work (hard and soft) grouds maintenace and golf course greenskeeping, factory exp - production line and packing, cleaning exp
Idealy i would prefer to stay in catering as thats where the most of my training has been, but finding not speaking finnish to be somewhat of an issue so willing to do any sort of work.
If anyone has any idea's of decent places to look please let me know, getting slightly fustrated reading page after page of forum posts looking for any sort of advice.
Many thanks

Go and get this permits it will help to reduce your lack of Finnish skills while searching for jobs in the catering fields.Hygieniapassi, Anniskelupassi and Ikärajapassi then keep sending applications, some of this permits and tests are can be done in English Language and there are lots of jobs openings for caterers and bar tenders.

The last one is in-house control stuff, so you won't (or at least shouldn't) have to pay for it. In fact so should be the first two too, but I have a hunch that there are enough applicants that already have those, so employers won't bother to school you, they just hire one with needed credentials.

Production lines are dangerous places, people without language skills put their fingers to wrong places and that means their bosses get to sit in court and pay fines...Adamhoward wrote:anyone seen any production line/packing work about as most of the agency's i look at are all in finnish
