Wanted: Part-time au pair in Helsinki

Post by rachelandomar » Sun Jun 18, 2017 12:45 pm

Hello! We are a British-American family looking for a reliable and responsible child-carer to collect our two young children from school and look after them until we finish work. Our daughter, aged 5, finishes school at 3.15pm in Ruoholahti. Our son, aged 2, needs to be picked up afterwards from a daycare in Katajanokka. Both would then be taken home which is located near the Helsinki Central Railway station (Rautatientori).

The carer must be available between 3.15pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday during the school year. Some basic housekeeping skills would also be valued. Above all, the individual must be reliable and able to commit for at least one school year after a trial period, starting on August 7th 2017.

If interested, please email us at rachelandomar[at]gmail.com with a note explaining your situation and availability, and your suitability for the position. Personal references would eventually be required, ideally indicating experience with children.

OP, have you checked the definition of "au pair", both migri.i and vero.fi. Au pair is not the same same as nanny. This has implication on your responsibilities, and potentially on the work permit.
