Hello,
I am waiting for a work permit from Migri and it seems to take a long time. Now there is interesting project going on in the company which I would like to join. Is there any way for me to join the project as volunteer? Even I don't need to get paid.
I read Migri website that I can work until 90days maximum as specialist, as long as I stay in Finland legally.
Thanks for your comments in advance!
Work voluntarily without right to work
Re: Work voluntarily without right to work
The specialist exception on RP requires a certain salary level (iirc € 3000,- pm). So volunteering will probably not work.artistlsm321 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 12:44 amHello,

You also need a residence permit for working as a volunteer or intern. migri.fi/en/volunteeringartistlsm321 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 12:44 amHello,

Thanks for your comments!
I am graduated in Finland and now my residence permit for employed person is in progress.
I can't work with residence permit for job seeker because I applied it after my student permit expired.
But I am from visa-free country and my job meets the requirement of specialist.
Is it possible for me to work 90days without right to work?
Thanks!

Did you apply for a specialist permit? If not then you can’t just start work as a specialist.

I applied residence permit for employed person two weeks ago and submitted contract.(start date for working is really soon)heretostay wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 4:51 pmDid you apply for a specialist permit? If not then you can’t just start work as a specialist.
Is it possible to change the application from residence permit for employed person to specialist?
And once it is changed, can I immediately start work as specialist?
Thanks,

Yes I can change according to the http://migri.fi/en/changing-the-grounds ... pplication
But I have to pay for additional fee and cancel older application.
The problem is if I don't change the application, I have to wait for avg 4months waiting time.
If I change the application to 'residence permit for specialist', can I immediately start work?
Thanks,

Re: Work voluntarily without right to work
What I would suggest is you go to migri with the new application ready and ask them before filing. They will inform you face to face a 100% accurate answer. You don’t want to run the risk of working when you don’t have the legal right to do so and potentially making things troublesome for yourself in the future.
