How to charge for extra work

Post by vla » Tue Apr 16, 2019 9:10 pm

Hi everyone!

I have a permanent job in Finland as software developer and I have the possibility to start doing some extra work for another company. So the extra work would be a few hours a week.

The "other" company asked me about billing (or invoice) so they can pay me. Does anyone know how that works? I checked the information on suomi.fi but I don't understand very well. Is the term "light entrepreneur" the correct thing here? Do I need to "hire" some kind of invoice/billing system? Can I do this by my self for example in vero.fi? Any ideas?

I guess the new wage should change the tax card percentage, right? Should I just add the extra gross salary to make the calculation or is there any particular consideration?

Thanks for the help!

First check that your current contract doesn't have non-compete term.
