they now recommend you apply through Tampere Työväenopisto, which as already mentioned, doesn´t start again till Autumn. I suggest that if you attend the: http://www.kesayliopistot.fi/finncult_2008.htm#TAMPERE1 Beginner & Intermediate course,back to back, in the same summer, they will ceratinly give you a rapid improvement in your Finnish skills. I have done both courses & found them very intensive (loads of homework everynight as well as very demanding course work & conversation during the lessons.) I thought they were excellent value for money, the only downside was that most of it was taught through English,(especially the Intermediate class surprisingly) rather than total Finnish immersion.
