Applying for Citizenship 2024
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
It seems it might take a while for me to receive the citizenship application decision, as six months have passed.
My permanent residence permit's time period is going to be fulfilled by the end of this month, and I am thinking of applying for it.
Do you have any idea about the waiting time period for entrepreneurship PR?
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hi all, hope you are doing well. I have a question regarding my citizenship application. Three of my friends and I applied for Finnish citizenship on June 2023 (7 months ago), and they got their citizenship decision on November 2023 (in five months), but for me, I am still waiting for process. My queue number is 4615. My question is that, is there a high chance that the waiting time goes for something like 20 months or more? Thanks.

Hi, could you please let me know where did you get this graph?just_passing_by wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 11:04 amIMO, nothing will really change in a matter of week.
Also, I would measure processing speed of your application over a multiple days/weeks, not over a single day. Because if you check some single day the processing speed may fluctuate.
Sorry, I do not understand what you mean.
If you want to know how far your application in the queue then you should just check the "slider" which Kamu chatbot shows you. It is pretty accurate in terms of queue position.
However, if you application at, for example, 50% after ~6 months of waiting, this does not mean that the rest 50% will be processed over next ~6 months. It will take much longer.
Otherwise, here is a peek into this week's data:
Total processed ~157 applications
Applications processed with queue number >4000: 122
Which is 78% of total processed applications
Migri processed applications roughly around 9300-9600/310/2023 diary numbers
I enlarged processed applications to make them easier to see:

It is answered earlier in this thread. Go backwards and you will find the answer.Farhadjavan wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:56 amHi, could you please let me know where did you get this graph?
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I have 4900x position, and queue moves below me by 12 applications daily. When I was above 5000 it was moving by 22 positions around. So, I would say 4000+ processinf still have a good chance of processing within 1.5 monthFarhadjavan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:08 amHi all, hope you are doing well. just_passing_by, can it be the case that people who apploed online bit visited service point later on are given priority? i.e. because submitted application has some smaller serial number etc?

Thanks for the reply. Could you please let me know where did you get the plot that you posted earlier? Someone told me in a previous posts I can find the answer but I couldn'tjust_passing_by wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:19 pmHi,Farhadjavan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:08 amHi all, hope you are doing well. Do not want to upset you, but I think that Migri skipped you for some reason.
I would assume that your application will take some time to process. Don't know if it will be 20 months, bot probably not soon.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I am at the very beginning of the whole process, and the wait is already very depressing. The queue just moved 6 people since yesterday. How is it even possible that only 6 applications were processed in whole Finland (I know there are other queues based on different application types), but still? Maybe I should just forget about the application and come back within 6 months, even 1 year later to check the progress

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Try not to give up hope. You do not have to reach #1 in the queue to be awarded citizenship. It's like boarding a plane and somebody walks along the queue and checks your documents in advance of getting to the desk. If your application is easy to handle then they are currently giving citizenship to those in the high 4000's queue position.I am at the very beginning of the whole process, and the wait is already very depressing.
On the other hand I applied at the end of last year and based on the speed over the past two weeks, it will be 5 years before I reach queue position 5000!!!

Yeah, it's just that checking the system everyday obsessively doesn't helpriku2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:58 amTry not to give up hope. Let's not lose hope, right? In your case, there was the holiday season in between, and I guess January is still somewhat a slow month? Let's see if it will accelerate at some point.

I'm in 490x-ish, it moved by 13 positions since yesterday.smo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:49 amI am at the very beginning of the whole process, and the wait is already very depressing. btw, I found some information on other threads in this forum for previous years, someone made statistics based on people's feedback, and it looks like migri is processing more applications from different queue ranges every month. so next month can be 3000-4000 processing etc.
