Is there anyone who applied before February 2022? And Still waiting for the decision? does the longer waiting time increases the chance of a negative decision? What is the maximum processing (stage 2) time? If someone could share the experience it would be a great help 🙂

Hi all, it would be interesting to know if someone got the decision recently, I mean those who applied in summer 2022 and has/had residence as entrepreneur... It's would be useful for statistics and trends because afaik entrepreneurs, workers, family ties are in separate queues...possibly...
I am still waiting since june 22 and now in queue 19xx.
You are around 400 places ahead of me in the queue  . I am self-employed but applied on the basis of family ties in August 2022, still waiting, like you.

Have you contacted Migri on this matter?
I think that if your application processing time is over the estimated range then they will try to tell at least something meaningful about your application.

I have plotted the current active applications and would like to ask you how you cut off the other two queues?
Also, in Migri stats it says that in 2023 there were ~17500 applicants for citizenship application (not declaration or determination). I get positions for all 17k applications and I got 3 queues on the picture, so I guess they should all be citizenship applications, but who gets into these other two queues?

https://tilastot.migri.fi
You just linked what I already linked? I wanted to see statistics exactly about what Karhu was saying. "based on migri website 80 percent of the rejections are because people are applying too early or trying to exempt from the yki testi" That link is not showing anything about that. So I was asking for the link showing what he's mentioning...
I couldn’t find anything stating 80% anywhere, but this link: https://home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/syste ... _FINAL.pdf
does say the majority of rejections are for lack of language skills or insufficient residency requirements. I would be curious if anyone had actual number statistics though
This is very interesting. Kiitos! I find it a bit funny that many are trying to be exempted in the language requirement. And based on that document, some are even pleading "illiteracy" just so they would be exempted, and I guess migri found out they could actually read.

Yes. I sent email, the reply was "We can see your application is under process, we will ask you, if we need any more info" Thats it.
What should I do now? Any advice?

you can appeal and btw from my readings appeals get a good positive response rate, but i will suggest an immigration lawyer. usually if you have a problem, they will tell you to resolve it and apply again, like someone had a case of taking a loan from kela, check the 2023 thread on page 75 (something like that). if you committed a crime that the court decision is higher than 30 fines days or 10 days in prison, you will get a waiting period with your decision, after which you can apply. if you commit a major crime, like a murder, then pretty much the finnish citizenship is your least concern now 😂
Apart from these, what can be other reasons for a negative decision by migri? I see thay reject (negative decision) 2-10% of applications per each country. Don't thinl all these people were in deby or commited a crime
based on migri website 80 percent of the rejections are because people are applying too early or trying to exempt from the yki testi
how people can apply without YKI exams result ? when they visit service point Mirgri accepts their applications ?

@Indian_Dude, Can you tell me your current queue number? and where you have applied and what is the basis of application work, family ties or other? I applied in June 2022 and they have told me wait until October 2024.

To my knowledge the last person from this forum who applied in January 2022 has updated that he/she received decision in September 2023. And after that Migri just completely abandoned the application from 2022.

Hi, I applied end of December, 2023 and got queue number 86xx in 2.1.2024 and at the moment it is 85xx and it only moved only 150 places, but for you it moved 600 places in two months even though there was Xmas break.

I’m curious and frankly worried a bit, how your queue number progressed so much faster while mine is so slow. Could it be because I’m in a slower queue? Because it goes so slow and it seems with this pace I’ll be around 4000 queue after more than 2 years 😭. Many people here on the other hand got to queue 4-5k after approx 6 months.

I would appreciate anyone helping me to make sense of this because it’s quite important for my case to get a decision by the end of summer.

Sorry to upset you but it might take 2 years or more to get the decision.

Why are you panicking with the long processing time?
Relax!

What is special about your case? Are you employed? Are you entrepreneur etc.? Did you come to Finland without a residence permit only tourist visa? do you have a valid national passport? did you apply online?

Thanks for the great graph! I wonder what does the y-axis represent? I guess the x-axis is the queue number?
