Depends on what address they had there for you?
Basically the paperwork goes so:
- One or both parties file for divorce at court.
- If one party has filed, the other party is asked for a written affidavit.
- After the court has "both signatures" they decree 6 months waiting period.
- After 6 months both parties get a notice of the 6 months being gone.
- Step one repeated.
- The "verdict" comes in mail (looks really bland, no stamps even).

If you have not signed the paper together, the 6 months starts when the other has "received" the notice. If she has received a notice of your filing, they're waiting for a contest period I guess if she hasn't replied to them. I suppose.
Basically if you have been living separated for 2 years you could have filed for immediate divorce.
The paperwork is in a court of law (depending where you filed) with a diary number etc.
The court will, after the 2nd filing (which has to happen within a year of the first filing), pass a divorce, regardless if the other spouse will contest or not.
Was it something resembling these you filed?
