Jeez, it's non-stop end-to-end stuff, isn't it?
Kind of makes you wonder, as one tabloid was wondering aloud today or yesterday - what's the point of banning English football hooligans from Europe when the people they support are actually bigger louts, racists, morons, and braggarts than any travelling firm could ever aspire to being?

"Do I hear THREE hundred posts... It's against you in the corner, sir...
Three hundred, thank you, madam.
Not all done are we?
Shall we say, three hundred and twenty...three hundred and twenty for this excellent footballing, thuggery, and mayhem thread... oh thank you, sir..."

You wonder why Sky sold their shares in MU? Probably fed up with pulling the strings at the FA to give them the easier ride but when they heard about dear old Rio they thought that enough was enough we cant keep helping them out any more. Sell sell sell

Now there are rumours that "Several England Players" are threatening to Boycott the Turkey match over the handling of the Rio case by the FA.
Couple of meetings..means they have been some quite angry exchanges...
FA press release:
"Following today's announcement we have had a couple of meetings with senior players as well as the Manchester United players," said Paul Barber, the FA's director of marketing and communications.
"The players obviously wanted to express their opinions and views on what has happened. We were very happy to listen. "
(or pretend to listen and say nothing!)

The players are obviuosly pissed off with their New Image ...!!

Also
David Gill
"We think the FA's decision not to select Rio for England is wrong - we will vigorously pursue our concerns about the matter in due course."
They moan when they are picked they moan when they are not picked.
What is it they want

"The FA has once again pleaded that the loutish, racist English hooligan element should not travel to Turkey for the big EURO 2004 qualifier. However, fans of the team will still be welcome..."

Headlines we won't be seeing, #26 (collect the set):
"Leeds player visits mum, has a lovely cup of tea and a digestive over a game of Scrabble before cycling home to enjoy one of his many video copies of
Songs of Praise"
(actually seen on an unofficial LUFC website). Classic.

Alleged gang rape, Alleged indecent assault, non supply of drug test, possible strike?
Nothing has actually been proved to have taken place other than a england v Turkey game on saturday, which as usual is the only thing that will unite the country and bring in 20+ million for the telly.
The media are just hyping it all up. Remember these are the same media that called hillsborough victims scum and NEVER say anything good about the game, bet they are getting a hard on thinking about possible trouble in turkey.
Take it with all with a large dose of salt

From what I've heard on the radio today it wasn't even on the cards. The Turkey game will go ahead.
I think the FA's gone right OTT with this one apparently the same things happened in the past:
Christian Negouai of Manchester City.
Fined £2k - and said he missed the test because he had to pick his mother up from the airport.
Some double standards here. Interestingly its been suggested that Rio didn't want to take the test because he was worried that the medication he was on for his recent kidney infection would affect the result.
Its been well publicised on the united boards for a while now that his kidney infection was in fact an STD

well Rio is allegedy pally with some of the roasting clique
