And some snooker?
And some snooker?
I posted a msg before already, and was made happy with a dead bird when someone mentioned there was a snooker table + interested people at Pullman's bar.
Now, having seen the smallest sized pooltable at Pullman, I wonder if people actually know the difference between snooker and pool...

Well the world championships are in England every year. And I love watching snooker. Unfortunately it doesn't make it on TV here but you can watch the world championships on line on the BBC (at least you could last time) although its not the same.
Ronnie O'Sullivan's my favourite player to watch, I used to like Jimmy White in the old days. I enjoy watching Hendry and Ebdon too. Don't like Mark Williams much but what a fantastic player he is (also great to watch).
IIRC there is a snooker table in Chaplins (but I might be wrong) I could be persuaded to play a game sometime but I'm crap (much better at pool which I prefer to play).
Interesting story about Ronnie here

Do you get Eurosport at home? They've been showing the LG cup the past week.
John Higgins shot a 147 against Mark Williams.
I used to like Jimmy White myself. But unfortunately he's been a bit off track the past years. These days I like John Higgins and Ken Doherty most. Both fabulous

Although Hendry is a class on it's own... Has been ever since he won at the Crucibles for the first time...
Nope I only get the four channels in my house (worst luck). I'm toying with the idea of getting Canal digital for the football. Does Euro sport come with that? I miss the snooker a lotArno wrote:Ah! Heaven! Someone knows!!![]()

He used to be a machine didn't he, I've watched championship after championship of Hendry beating everyone, he's slowed down a bit these past few years though.Arno wrote:Although Hendry is a class on it's own... Has been ever since he won at the Crucibles for the first time...

Wanna go out for a frame or two some time?
I haven't used my cue in about 1,5 years now. It's time I break off the dust!
Eurosport shows everything from F1 to rugby to soccer to football to tennis to snooker (all the major tournaments live and the smaller ones in replay).
I'm sure I saw snooker tables in a place at the bottom end of mäkelänktu close to where I usually stay on my visits to Helsinki.olly wrote:.

I found the place quite easily, thanks for your helpolly wrote:How were my directions mate?
I actually chose to walk it there as it was a really nice sunny day. I parked up near to Oxford Road and went record shopping on Oldham street before the game. I never realised at the time but I could have just walked along Oldham street and turned right towards the stadium.
After the game I jumped on a bus and was back at piccadilly gardens by 17.10......only cost 70p.
Btw, if you check on the city website it says that the piccadilly - stadium walk is stewarded. I didn't see one anywhere!
The ground reminded me of the finnair stadium a bit

I live in Bolton. I have been visiting Finland about evey six months for the last 3 years. I usually stay on mäkelänkatu, near the swimming hall, with my friends Ville and Mari. They sampled the *delights* of Bolton for 2 weeks last summer.olly wrote: Yeah there are a few venues in that area. What you doing over there? Holiday? or do you live there and visit here?
It was their first proper trip away from Finland and they were bloody hard work

Whats "the *delights* of Bolton"? The Reebok stadium and a pie shopjunot wrote:I live in Bolton. I have been visiting Finland about evey six months for the last 3 years.
