Just so everyone knows I did do some research prior to coming to this forum. I was aware that a working residence permit was needed, I am aware it is going to be difficult seeing that I don't speak finnish and poutine is f****ing great. Cheese and gravy what else could you ask for. The reason for the short stay is that a working visa is not necessarily granted for long periods. I don't have the money to stay for a year not working. The reason I chose to go to Finland is because of a finnish girl I met hear in Canada, I want to be near her and she can't be here. Unfortuneatly I am not a student so I have to travell through other means. I don't want a career, I just want to be able to feed myself and keep myself from going crazy while I am there. Three months not working I would go crazy. If you have come across any work posting sites please forward them to me. Chow.

Ah, a HBS

Yes well, the problem is if you "just come here" you cannot work. If you want to work here you need to get a job first (from distance)... if you find a job here and an employer they basically require you to fly back to apply... and 3 months... a Yankee mate waited 8 months before landing a job - and he had an A-permit...

Then again, education is free, and if one is a recent graduate they do have these exchange programmes... there are ways...
