International School Flea Market?

Post by Xochiquetzal » Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:44 pm

Wasn't it supposed to be around this weekend that they hold the fall flea market in Ruoholahti? Did I miss it?

I haven't heard a word.... and there is nothing on their website or in the newsletter.
If I hear anything I'll post on here. Got a feeling it is later rather than sooner though...

The school is at the western terminus of the metro, between the music conservatoire and the harbour.

I heard from my friend whose kids go there. It's 28 October, 9-13.

What is the flea market like? Stuff from families whose kids attend the school? Crafts?

I don't think they sell crafts there. There are clothes, books, videos, skis, skates, lots of stuff. I've gotten English books for myself and my son, videos, and DVDs there. I've seen some French videos, but they are hella expensive.

In the past I have bought skis, a BrightLight, books (adults and kids), DVDs, Playstation games, board games, football boots etc. The one in the spring is usually better as families moving out of the country in the summer sell off all their worldly 220v possessions and Arctic-wear. But for books, clothes and toys both markets are great. I'd agree that prices are probably a bit steeper than in the regular "kehakirppis" places.
