Hiya
If he is wanting to stand then it wont do him any harm.
It is an old wives tale that it will bow their legs if they want to do it.
Sounds liek you might have an early walker on your hands!

Sophie was standing in her cot at 3½ months and her legs and back are fine. She walked at 8 months.

My little girl was walking when she was 8 months old so don't worry. Now she is 5 years and Somtimes I think she has lost the plot :-)

Let him stand all he wants :D And let him zoom around the house holding
on to furniture if he wants, too! Just keep an eye on him in case
he loses his balance or decides to try something bright like yanking
himself up on to the couch and not quite making it.

Any luck and he'll slow down by the time he gets to school ;)
My eldest zoomed around the house like that extremely early, but
only started walking when he was 11 months old. Hasn't slowed down
yet :)

I still have nightmares about the day my eldest "walked" around the room clinging to the furniture until he found my my cup of tea.... he ended up in hospital with burns to his neck, chest and back. Not something I am proud of but I learnt a lesson: never under-estimate the capabilities of your children! Luckily my first reaction was to put him fully dressed under a running tap and then call an ambulance. The treatment he had in hospital prevented any long-term scarring but for many weeks I was convinced he would be scarred for life. He has one tiny patch of rough skin on his chest but it is hardly visible as he is very fair.

Be careful and make sure your room is totally kid proof. But don't stop him doing it, he is only trying to copy what you do all day

Hi,

my son started at that age too ... it was really fast and he managend quite fine walk along furniture soon after it, but he was 13 months when he stated walking .. so don't worry ... sometimes they just start and then nothing happens for a long, long time.
:)
