Another great place to visit...with or without kids. Just like the Finnish Railway Museum but all about PLANES!! Simulators to fly, cockpits to sit in, passenger plane to explore, hot air balloon basket to swing and the list goes on. There is some kind of kids festival there on May 20th if you like crowds
So we have done planes, trains...now automobiles. Anyone know if the Espoo Car Museum is worth going to??

I have been thinking of this place to do with my guys, is it all inside or in and out? Thinking of a rainie day thing to do with them.

It's almost completely indoors - there are only a couple of planes outside.
I think we've got an eater!

It is OK for 7 YO + children

We enjoyed it. There's something kind of home-made and cosy about the place.... I think the museum is run on a not for profit basis (aren't most

) and although it is maybe not as impressive as the railway museum or the aviation museum, IMO your kids will still enjoy it! The people who run it are all car and bike nutters and have plenty to say.
(We went about 5 yrs ago, so it might've changed a bit since then. Must go along again in this summer to see what's new. Boys never grow out of staring at cars and bikes I think!)

Heureka is alway a must on scorching hot summer days when
the kids can go out in the yard behind it and build dams all
day long to their heart's content

Sometime in the not too distant future, Heureka and the Aviation Musuem will be side by side!

Apparently the whole complex will be rather large and handily for us, just across the road!!

If you do go to the Car Museum in Northern Espoo, I recommend stopping at the Markantanpuisto that's on the way. There's a stickie on the park in this families section. I was there again today and they've updated a couple of the play areas with the newest equipment. One area had really cool jumping gyms that were just great.
