I believe it's 9:00-13:00. If I find out it's different, I'll post a change.

This is a really good place to pick up foreign language books and toys and also electrical equipment and sports goods. Many ex-pat families move out of Finland at the end of the school year and sell up a ton of stuff before they go.

We have football all weekend but if I get a break between two matches I might dash in and take a look. The kids are looking for some new PS2 games and I am always looking for books. Wouldn't mind a flat screen TV too if there are any going....

I bought my Bright Light there a few years ago and ski equipment for all the kids. There are sometimes good bargains, but the prices tend to be a little higher than on huuto or in the regular flea markets.

BTW, IIRC there is coffee, cake, buns etc on sale too, but entrance is FREE.

I think it's probably too late to join the selling. I don't know if anyone other than members can sell there. The school info is a few posts up. Feel free to call if you need more info. I'm not associated with the school, I just know a few people who are.

My SO is working so I am with the kids and its a long drive there..
Since they are opening the new mall tomorrow locally here ( Marcus Gronholm), I will probably spend some time there and also need to do house work outside ( Cleaning car, clearing brushes etc)
Later in the day is the Cricket match on the net..
so we re not coming..

Why would you assume that it's today when the date is clearly posted that it's the 28th. It's tomorrow, as I said in my post earlier today.

The latest newsletter on their website is from 12th January. Surprised they don't have an ad for it... and they didn't advertise in Helsinki This Week either.

I seem to remember that stalls can only be rented by families at the school. But entrance is free to general public. At least that is how it used to be.

This was a really good one this time! The last year's Spring and Fall were about half full but this was full up again! My husband was bummed that there was a great lightweight jogging stroller/bike attachable. He wish we had that when Maia was smaller.

I ended up buying a salwar kameez set, pants, sweater, giant grasshopper, toy tiger and zebra, and a scarf and hat for Maia. Hubby got the Eragon book.

There was a lot of legos and books this time. And a cool Warhammer set (hubby wished it was the fantasy set and not the sci fi one). A lot of girl clothing and a lot of boy toys - go figure :)

Maia's happily playing with her big plastic grasshopper as I type :)

I got some great stuff, too! I went through the Legos and found a few things that we didn't have. Got an excellent deal on those. I rode into Helsinki with a friend who had a table and I got to do some early shopping. I'm very pleased with my purchases.

other flea markets

Post by przejoan » Sat Apr 28, 2007 4:42 pm

Hi, does anyone know how to get information about other flea markets, especally those with kids stuff, taking place in helsinki area? Is there a place where they are advertised, or some place where they take place regularly?
Thanks
