Most of them are closed during the summer. Finns swim in lakes when the ice melts.

Here you go... haven't been to any of these though, maybe some Tampere-dwellers could make recommendations?

The Hervanta pool is quite nice, but these days I prefer the Kaleva (Tampere Swimming Centre) because it is closer. Plus, I think you can use your 'bus card' to pay for entry into the pool (Kaleva at least..) - they are quite clean and well maintained.
I guess I am used to the pools at home where its always pretty empty - the pools in Tampere can get quite busy at times, so be prepared for full lanes with bumper-to-bumper Finns :)

It also seems to be the only one that is not currently closed :)

There's a pic, albeit a small one, here.

My friends are planning to go at Hervana pool next week, we hope we can enjoy our swimming vacation. Thank you for the resource idea.
