Pakistani REstaurant in Espoo: Peshawar
Penny already pointed this out
Went to Peshawar today for a lunch buffet for Euro8.20 and I was pretty satisfied with the buffet...Especially the Nan, the Chicken and the Meat-kofta(meat balls). The best dish was the veggei-channa(Chick peas) and the Chicken masala
and the worst was the fish..I would avoid the fish as well as the pizzas..
The lassi ( yoghurt) was watery and the buffet included soft drinks and ice cream too..apart from the lassi..
Overall I would rate this OK!! ( 3/5)
Definitely recommend a Lunch Buffet than a la carte..
I ll be going again on the days when they have the Lamb dishes..
The food was not spicy at all and NOT hot at all (very Typical to cater to Finnish taste buds) cept for the Channa.

We went towards the end of August. The food was fine, but we went around 1.30pm and the buffet ended at 3pm. They did not fill anything up less it was asked for
When we got there, there was no salad at first and half the hot dishes were empty though they did bring a couple more out in the end. I felt sorry for the poor buggers coming in much later as they had no choice.
We did enjoy what we had though, just a shame it wasnt spicier
Much prefer the Kilim buffet

It's a friendly place, we quite often dash in for the buffet. I have never seen the buffet "empty" (of food I mean) but maybe August was a bit different. Some things on the à la carte are spicier - as you say the buffet is to Finnish tastes so not very hot. Probably best to stick to the Pakistani dishes (CTM is Indian rather than Pakistani). I usually eat the vegetarian options and the dal, aloos etc are pretty OK. It's just local for us, so we go there when I can't be bothered to cook. On Monday (I think) they let me grab a buffet meal and take it away cos we were in a hurry.
Anyway raamv, let me know when you're going in for lunch again and I'll join you if I'm not at work.

They must've added some local Finnish spice called bland. They add the bland spice to many ethnic foods and Finnish foods alike to make the food taste less tastier and spicy. It's a traditional Finnish spice and it's been used here for centuries alongside with salt and freeze drying.Sara wrote:There was something on the buffet that tasted the same!karen wrote:I didn't like it at all. I had the chicken tikka masala. It was dried out chicken pieces in what tasted like Campbell's Tomato Soup.I dont know what it was meant to be but it had no spice in it.
Get in there...

and Might I ask what makes you think that there are Pakistani choices there? and CTM is nothing but Chicken-Red-Spicy-mix...so it is both Indian and Pakistani..penelope wrote:Probably best to stick to the Pakistani dishes (CTM is Indian rather than Pakistani).
The reason I like to go to a Pakistani Restaurant is basically they are better cooks of the meat than Indian restaurants...
I do tend to agree that the Spice-base is the same ( Onion, Lotsa garlic, Tikka and minimal spice with minimal piima or yoghurt with some butter n oil ) and you can taste the same spice base..cept for the Channa.
If you think that restaurants do something different...U re wrong..North Indian food base is what I wrote above...
depending on what you add, the name of that changes..

and probably 20% more expensive..karen wrote:Btw, my favorite Curry Palace is closing after Friday for a two-week
expansion and remodel. They've acquired the former R-Kioski space and will
reopen around the 19th with a lunch buffet and space for 105 patrons.
I like it, cept for the price..and so would not go there that often as compared to Satkar.
