BANKS WITH BEST EXCHANGE RATES (ATM)

hi. i would like to know which banks have the best exchange rates at their atm. i would like to withdraw money from an american bank account in helsinki. thanks.

Ouch, that's a tough one. We have a "huge" selection of ATMs in Finland...

I'd recommend this, this, this or this. I guess they all have the same exchange rate!

At a guess I would say it is nothing to do with the bank that has the machine stuck on the wall.

More likely it is your credit card company who fixes the exchange rate... Amex, Visa etc etc

You will take out Euros from the Solo machine and your American bank / credit company will charge the dollars to your US cheque account or to your credit card account.

So check the small print on your credit card agreement.

Don't bother with ATMs unless you have a certain reason to. Go to f o r e x.fi, they have locations at the railway station and downtown Hel.

They take credit cards and are pretty good about rates and fees and they take (back) any Euros you might have leftover before you leave again, just save your receipt... That is if you have any money left over.
