HELP - MOTHERS AND TODDLERS GROUPS IN HELSINKI

My husband and I, and our one-year old daughter, arrived in Helsinki at the beginning of November. Now that we are settled in our new home, it's time to meet other English-speaking mothers/fathers and toddlers - for my and my daughters' sanity! If anyone knows of any groups that meet in Helsinki, I would love to hear from you.

The BWA (British Women's Association) also has a mothers and babies/toddlers group. They used to meet in the Nokia sports club in Espoo but that might have changed now. When I was a member babies were always welcome in BWA coffee mornings. It is a great place to meet other expat mums and they organise a ton of visits and activities. Once you have met a few mums in a similar situation to yourself you can organise your own activites inbetween BWA meets. I am working now so am no longer a member but enjoyed going along very much when I first arrived. You do NOT have to be British to join, but the meetings are all in English. Call or email the committee if you would like more info.

Hi Arlene

There is a new location for the ex-Nokia group, the playgroup is now on a Tuesday morning from 10:30 held at Pajalahdentie 10a in Lautasaari (the building next to the library), this is your best bet as the M&Ms group doesn't meet regularly at Stockmann anymore as we have dwindled in numbers as lots of people moved away. There is also a group of international Mums (myself and 21 month old daughter included) who meet every Monday too. Please feel free to send me a private message for further details.
