Here's the angled view look at the last angle (.35secs, takes a while to buffer) and tell me he was going for the ball.

I've tried to not read into the still shots, but that last angle is very incriminating. Still, I don't think Taylor wanted to bring about what actually resulted, but a dirty and dangerous 'challenge' nonetheless. Was it 'unlucky' that Eduardo's foot was planted when he was struck, or - dare I suggest - timing on Taylor's part?

I wonder how much of ban he'll face for this. He'll be back before Eduardo in anycase.

PAUL GASCOINE did in my opinion a much worse tackle inthe F.A. cup semi final and was allowed to be substituted :beer_yum:
oh dear john! i know your a birmingham fan but that not a sending off? This has NO place in football and needs to be stopped if possible, I'm not an Arsenal fan but i admire Wenger and he's right here. Taylor needs to be hit masssive!

There are worse tackles flying in every week. It wasn't very late at all - the slo-mo makes us forget the frightening speed these guys are moving around at (yeah, and their timing should be on a par with that speed, I know). There's a lot of bad luck about this - thankfully theses injuries are very rare. If Eduardo's foot wasn't planted, he'd maybe have a nice bruise around about now instead of being stuck in a Birmingham hospital.

Red card for Taylor regardless.

Seemed to me like it wasn't totally malicious but more at the evil end of careless. Wreckless would be a good description. Taylor didnt seem to quite be at the pace of the game and he's wrecklessly gone in high, studs up and dangerous. It is exactly the kind of awful challenge that any footballer knows can be a career-ender, whether indoors, on the marshes or at the Maracana. Wenger's retracted his statement about the life ban quite rightly (as he wouldn't want Eboue up for that every week!) and he maybe has a point about English refs sometimes letting bad challenges off. But I didnt see the start of the game so I can't comment on that.

Amazing that United are have such an incredible defence and incredible attack. Against Newcastle they played the second string midfield and walked it.

It was very late to me, the ball is long passed. To me I think he meant to foul him but got more than he bargained for, after all how high up Eduardo's leg was the contact.

Newcastle are a joke. But and its a big but, since KK took over that have played utd and arsenal twice. Give it when he plays against the relegation teams, thats when you expect them to win and if they dont then its going to be Big Al

 Surely NUFC can't get any funnier? Big Al coming in on top of everything would be side-splitting.
