Hello everyone!
I'm from Germany, but currently study in Helsinki .... as there is some international gettogether tomorrow in the Lab where I am working, I intend to bring a real german poppyseed cake, but unfortunately I could not find any black poppyseeds in Helsinki
Can anyone help? What is the finnish word for "poppyseed"? Or does anyone know, where to get them?
Thanks alot in advance!
Sebastian

Where did you look? Under the stones? Up in the trees? Theyre there where all other things are you know, in the supermarket, where you have baking stuff and spices. Unikonsiemen.

Well, I tried at Kauppakeskus Arabia (K- & S-Markets there) and K-Market at the Railway station ... nothing there - but I have to admit, that I did not know the finnish word for it! So thanks for the help with the translation ..
But thanks for the hint ... I should try climbing up the finnish trees. It seems that poppyseeds are growing there

I don't know - some people can't find their own ass going to the toilet... though in the store usually are in the small 50g bags, so if you are looking for bigger quantities you need to go to some eco-store or such.
