Picking up your drivers license?

Post by Flossy1978 » Mon May 05, 2008 7:11 am

I am confused by this.

I passed my test and got my little bit of paper to carry around till it's time to get my real license. I am suppose to go to the police station to pick it up, but which police station?

I live in Lassila (it's a small suburb next to Pohjois-Haaga). Do I go all the way into the city to the big police station (where immigration stuff use to be) to get my license or to the closer station in Pasila?

I emailed to the driving school that I got my license through and they never replied.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Michelle

Give your closest police station a call and ask them. Use this page http://www.poliisi.fi/poliisi/home.nsf/www/contactus to find the station's details closest to you.

If this doesn't work for you, ask the driving school to find out for you. They probably know how to find out - just need a little push in the right direction.

Good luck!

I finally got over the embarrassment of being such an idiot because of this, that I called the driving school.

The lady laughed and said nowadays you get your license from the Ajovarma :)

It use to be the police station like it says in the English driving book, but not anymore.

Can't believe I got myself all confused over this LOL. How silly LOL.

Thanks!!!!

Michelle
