About finnish people and their habits!

Finns are silent? I tend to disagree.... They just don't like to hear foreign language and accent in a loud pitch/tone/harmonics

They are also lound...like every other nation.

*Hint* Cell phone conversations about everything including who is seeing who, who is dating who, who is having kid, yada yada yada....for whole jounrney in bus from job < - > home

Alot of animosity being directed at this observation.
From what I have seen the finnish people are reserved. One of the reasons I like it here.
So yes, makes sense that they would be quiter on buses.
However I don't see that they are anti-social on buses so to speak.
People have talked to me and I have talked to people. They have been polite for the most part. Some haven't.

I attribute a large part of the finnish 'nature' to just that. The nature in Finland. The lake side cottages. The peaceful summer days in the woods.
Even living in a city from what I have seen it isn't all that uncommon to take trips out to such places quite often whenever the chance arises.

This thought it half-hashed but I hope the meaning coming through.

well i have been living in Berlin ,Paris at least i know people there are different!!

The only people who sing in Berlin trains/buses are buskers, and only people who talk there are beggars asking for money or homeless selling their magazine.

Hi guys!
Something i couldn´t understand it till now is: Why finnish people are silent, every where in bus, metro... u hear noise only in weekend from the drunk people! one of my friend from Holland was singing ( happy day ) in the bus people started to look at him like he is crazy!( we record a video and i´m gonna put it in youtube, i will give u the link later:D:D ) always they r silent, not smiling reading this morning magazine, it´s not the same at least in some other European countries.but at least women here are easy

I don't agree with your opinion that Finnish women are easy; well, I used to think the same when I first came, but not anymore... I think they are merely executing their freedom of going home with someone they find attractive, without being regarded as slut by their social-circles or without risk of being raped, murdered or robbed. Scandinavians are very liberal about the status of women in the society and women here are truly regarded equal as men and as a result there is no social pressure or whatsoever on women regarding this issue whereas in elsewhere, even in many countries in Europe, same women would be labeled as cheap and easy, as you did. Also Finland is a quite secure country whereas in another country going home with an unknown would be a high risk. And btw, If you think she is easy and cheap because she is going home with you, then we, men, are the cheapest whores of all universe.

Btw, yes, my observation is that foreigners tend to be louder in buses in Finland, but I think this is a bit related to being abroad and getting over-excited about it. However, I prefer a bus full of silent finns rather than a bus full of loud-talking spanish/french who somehow always seem to group up and speak a language that I don't understand...
