Cyber cafés

Post by Nordisch » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:42 pm

Could I get a recommendable list of cyber cafés within the center of Helsinki? Appreciate it further if these places have their own personal site. If not location/price & timing information would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Roberts offer Internet access in some of their cafes. Look under locations - Finland.

Why pay for the use of the Internet (or for a cuppa)?

For example, the library Kirjasto 10 (http://www.lib.hel.fi/en-GB/kirjasto10/laitteet/) which is located in the head post office building in the city center, has quite a few workstations with internet access. Usually the users log in with their library cards, but the out-of-towners will be provided with a temporary card.

Smack centre theres one in Lasipalatsi, was it mbar now, but almost every place these days has a computer - even my local pub. The sort of "netcafe" places with loads of computers never really "happened" in Finland. There was a few "nerd places" at first but when the boom came everyone got it at home or used it at work/school so there wasn't such a demand.
