Finland no longer has work for me so I decided

to go it alone and turn my hobby into an income of sorts. I would appreciate some feedback, especially from Finnish members on my new career direction over at www.kuvatohtori.net concerning any aspect of the site or its language, target audience.

Hi,

just a quick note regarding language - all in all the pages seem okay, even if you can tell it's probably not a "native text"... but try to avoid

a) Unnecessary capital letters (only use them when grammatically needed - other usage brings about a "pompous" effect)
b) compound word (yhdyssana) mistakes, they get on many peoples' nerves and while "it can be understood" gives a somewhat negative image.

as in "Valokuvien Korjaus ja Valokuvien Entisöinti Palvelu."

-> Valokuvien korjaus ja valokuvien entisöintipalvelu.

edit: in fact you could rather write

Valokuvien korjaus- ja entisöintipalvelu

kuvagalleria sivuille -> kuvagalleriasivuille
luola maalauksia -> luolamaalauksia

Don't worry though, there aren't many of them - but still I'd recommend you get rid of those since they do, for some people, signify 'unprofessional' or 'shoddy' work, especially when you do use words like "tallennusmateriaali" and "kuvamanipulaatio" correctly (btw the compound word issue is a common problem with us natives, too - linja autolla Lappeen rantaan! )

Not a bad idea. Somehow you would just have to reach also the 60+ crowd.

Do you handle also the 1970s colour photos? Those days there was something wrong with films, and pictures taken then are all now a reddish blur. Soon they are all gone. And in those days there were no videocameras, and people took only colour photos, so it looks like people are losing all their baby pictures, pictures taken in their wedding, and so on. That clientele would be a lot wider than those with very old photos.
