If they did open a starbucks, why would it be in Appila ... such a bad rumour.
I wouldn't mind if Starbucks replaced Roberts Coffee tho : / . "Robert" doesn't know how to make hot chocolate so I doubt he can make coffee . He has to learn from the Starbucks mermaid .

Unfortunately the closest KFC is on the continent..Bubba Elvis XIV wrote:But it's like McD's....You're in a strange place, you really need to eat and use the bathroom, you have no time...it's a safe option...It's crap but at least you know that and you know the toilets will be reasonably clean and there will probably be paper. I always feel it's worse when you are hoping the food is good and it isn't...but you know what you get with BK/KFC/ etc etcAlexTroublemaker wrote:Yeah, I think it has a lot to do with consistancy. You know what you're going to get.
Personally, from the coffe they sell here, i divide them in 2 categories: the one called lavazza and the rest.

Re: Starbucks in Finland!?
I'd say 'fortunately' the closest KFC is on the continent, I had food poisoning for a week from eating in KFC in London and just recently a good friend of mine had the same thing, never again! Don't think Wayne's coffee in Finland has been mentioned yet, their coffee is fine, not a bad hot chocolate either, and they do have delicious cake!!
Re: Starbucks in Finland!?
Actually robert can make a really good latte. He works at one of the coffee shops in hki. It's the employees of Robert's coffee that seem to be lacking in some barista skills. But that seems to be a common trend with coffee shops here in Finlandluckykitty wrote:If they did open a starbucks, why would it be in Appila ... such a bad rumour.

Wayne's coffee is the best here, never disapoints!
Never cared for Robert's, whenever I decide to give it a chance, I end up disapointed. Also, Wayne's gives you 50% off in the mornings.

Well, where is Alpilla, anyway ?flyingyellowpig wrote:In Alpilla,I doubt about it.I don't see any place where they can open it in here(Alpilla).
Regarding Alppila, there is Linnanmäki and the train station of Pasila causing some pedestrian traffic in the vicinity, but there is not much offices in Alppila. The surroundings are quite highly populated, if you count Alppiharju, Harju and the rest of Kallio. The offices and factories are by Teollisuuskatu... Alppila, as a location for a Starbucks, is quite improbable if it does not mean "in Linnanmäki". Hakaniementori (Sokos...) or around Vaasankatu/Flemari (taking for instance the location of Luft) would sound more realistic to me.
There is not any Roberts Coffee in Kallio even if we consider Kallio stretching from Hakaniemi to Pasila and Sörnaisen Kurvi. More precisely : there is no Roberts Coffee between Kaisaniemenkatu and the shopping center of Arabia. So, it's definitely not such a bad idea for Starbucks to choose Kallio for a test-opening... though it will definitely not look like a grand opening.
