Good luck!!! I took the Hygiene Pass test last year and it was a whizz. I managed 40/40 (you need 34 to pass) and I have never worked in a professional kitchen (I sell ice-cream :ochesey: ). I assume you are taking the test in English... some of the translations are dodgy, so if in doubt ask to see the Finnish copy and get someone to re-translate it for you (eg the examiner). There was one question on our paper which didn't make sense in English but most of the rest were OK. Did you find the practice paper on evira.fi ? You will have to wait a few weeks for the certificate and plastic card to come through the post but the examiner will give you your score after the test and you can ask for a provisional certificate if you need one (at least we could).

IMO you should be able to find some summer work but ALL the restaurants are complaining that bums-on-seats are down at the moment. I don't think the VAT decrease kicks in for a few months yet, but who knows if that will lift the restaurant business???

Cheers!!

I have done those things you mentioned. Also Im honestly not expecting to find a cooking job right away. If i have too, Im content to sweep a floor or two for a few months until it gets warmer.

If anything it will be good for me... I can polish up on my puhekieli so that i may actually seem somewhat employable to a place i would enjoy working in.
