Re: QUESTIONS? ekk.
Well the critique is you concentrate on the main point and not insignificant things that depend on the main point. You need no phone nor bank account if you can't be in the country. Just like that stupid excange student that spent pages asking about accommodation and then blurted that he hadn't even applied for a residence permit. All those answers are wasted. See now wasted - there is no relavance if he can't share a bathroom with someone else if he can't get into the country. So first questions first.

Re: QUESTIONS? ekk.
With P's post count first thing that comes to my mind is that he is lowered by asking same questions time after time after time without bothering to think or research. So there might be slight reason for being rude regardless of the latest ice hockey results.MissAlice wrote:I'm not saying I don't like your answers "darling", I did find them helpful especially this one about the embassy. But really there is no reason to be rude, it was a fair 3-2 victory for US![]()
Some people when asking for help don't like to be lowered in the process and for me I only know how to stand up for myself in that matter. Also the nationality was a low blow to me, being that I do have some problems with that. But with all that said there was not once I didn't have a smile on my face when typing it all. You were semi-helpful and I have read many of your post, but you are also in this game of critiquing. Don't worry guys I will play in your in your little games for answers to some of my questions but at the same time I will comment the stupid remarks....
edit. would you please tone down the smiley usage?

I know myself, will be living in Finland, I already have things in process so I don't have to worry about the working permits as much, if things like this annoy you, then why bother joining this site, or is it that you feel better about yourself? but yet, I'm not saying I'm not thankful for the small advice I'm getting, more like I have more comments on this guy. But ehh.
Any other comments about this?

You are like American number ten this week that gets offended by something on this forum. You may not like people involving your nationality into the discussion, but it is obviously relevant for how well a person can deal with things. If you feel a holy right to get insulted in this forum then you are sooo out of luck in Finland. Sorry lady, you should really make sure to stick to the Finnish friends you obviously have, because everyone else will somehow insult you and your dignity. And you might want to stop and think about if that makes them all wrong or your attitude wrong.

Anyways, the embassy is on Place de Finlande on the south bank (M Invalides) just off Pont Invalides, so go there saying you're interning for some lard drapery and see what they tell you. Or actually call them up first and ask when they're open 01.44.18.19.28 or 01.44.18.19.29 If they say to come over bring all the papers with you (they want to see the contracts, hours, conditions etc.) and they'll say if the company then needs to get a labor opinion or not. And don't get run over by a mototaxi on Quai d'Orsay like some american tourists gawking at the Eiffel.
Oh soo sweet of you to give me a warning, look the ice is melting from your ice heart , but sorry 3yr of staring at a hunk of metal, wont really faze me now.
But try editting on that, american part. thanks.

I'm american by passport, I haven't seen my country in awhile, I was grown up in a different way, so unfortunately to put me in a category like that is quite ignorant yourself. I didn't get offended, I more like made a statement just like P did himself.
You shouldn't judge so quickly on things with out knowing background or anything of that matter. I'm not american by choice lets just put it at that, and I don't like to be referred to it because like every other country there are the "special" ones. Also come on... I lived in Paris for 3 yrs..You Finns are giving me baby talk in compare to what I had to put up with here.. I've dealt with this before, but like every time, I will make my own statements on how I feel. Insulted no, just liking the fact that I have a computer and a keyboard to type back.

Hey take it easy Alice. I did the same mistake on my first post on this forum. It was a "warm welcome" from raamv and I reacted more aggressive than you! But, then realized that these guys: raamv, hank (he disappeared suddenly, I missed his remarks), tiwaz, Pursuivant are all very helpful...
Re: QUESTIONS? ekk.

Re: QUESTIONS? ekk.
You are making quite a lot of assumptions if you think everyone in this forum is Finnish. A good part of the users on the forum (including the ones writing in your thread) are foreigners just like you and just happen to know quite a lot more about moving to Finland than you do. But I see your American genes are clouding your judgement about this as well. Usually the Americans one meets abroad are fantastic and enlightened people who have seen how annoying their native style tends to be to eveyone else. But I guess it doesn't work that way every time..You Finns are giving me baby talk in compare to what I had to put up with here.. I've dealt with this before, but like every time, I will make my own statements on how I feel. Insulted no, just liking the fact that I have a computer and a keyboard to type back.

Well, I am sure that at least 1/10th of what we wrote is probably experienced by many foreigners here..
