Rough math says it would be prices at least 225% greater for my liter cost here ...?

(not calculating the 35% / 70proof rating )

So at local cost my 1 liter Finlandia Vodka Grapefruit Infusion at 35% (70 proof)
will cost about half the Helsinki price.

Right, except the price is for the whole Finland, from Hanko to the Utsjoki. Alko is monopoly and they don't offer alcohol at different prices in different regions.

Vodka is flammable, right? So you can't pack it in your checked baggage. In fact, I have a vague recollection there are all kind of restrictions on any liquids in checked luggage. I wouldn't do it simply because I've seen how the gorillas throw bags around. I wouldn't trust a hard suitcase enough to put a liter of anything into it, regardless of whether the rules allowed it.
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

I just checked FinnAir web and confirmed with representative in NY
One can bring up to 5 liters of alcohol if strength is 70% or less in checked in or carry on (duty free shop purchases)
Amazing amount for the three of us to max out on :o .
I will stick with the one gift bottle and insulate it well from handling damage
