Which is fair enough if you can do the repairs and maintenance yourself but finding a real car mechanic with a pulse these days is needle in haystack stuff. Our 20-something MB now goes to Herttoniemi for servicing, not exactly next door. The last really decent service it had was probably in Budapest!Pursuivant wrote:

LOL don't get ballistic Hank, your suggestion is reserved as a last chancePursuivant wrote:The "assessment" (methinks right English massa?) is 95 euros the bloke from repairshop comes do. Company ask - insurance pay.
Then again 4 years talk with company the house insurance is there to pay for this...
(why do i get these "stupid foreigner" moments.. ) OK not do anything, killm kill die off

I got the home insurance in case the apartment burns out or an aircraft lands inside. I don't like the hassle with the insurance guys over small amounts, cos they always try their best not to pay anything.
Secondly, as you mentioned in your other post, repair guys are not very motivated here. The one I called said they are off or full until next Tuesday, so I have to call then to get an appointment!

However, if there were a shop which sells a new machine(or used doesn't matter) and compensates the worth of the old one (like in my country), it would be easy and worthy...
Yeah, I put it on the floor to see if it was clogged. Normally it is attached to the drainage pipe high enough on the wall...riku2 wrote:have you moved the drain hose recently?
And although I have some experience in fixing household items, repairing the washing machine myself is above my skills.
I bought it second hand, that's why I don't know if the previous owner used it heavily or not. But, I'm somehow sure that it has a small problem. As riku2 said, maybe some loose cables.penelope wrote:I have an UPO fridge at the mökki and it must be 20 or 30 years oldSurprised your machine has died after only 4 years, especially if it is a low-end (ie bog-standard unsophisticated) model as not too much can go wrong.
Tomorrow I will pay a visit to those stores...
Re: Another washing machine question
Just wanted to write a feedback:
I bought an unsophisticated (in fact the cheapest
) washing machine from Musta Pörssi for 199e. They asked 40e for the delivery (unbelievable!) and 18e to take the old one away (acceptable)...
I don't know what's the normal procedure for this here in Finland, but I did the installation myself. Just got a little help from the janitor to connect it to the water tap.
