Lieksa! - movie issue

Post by gotterdamerung » Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:10 pm

Hello,

saw a trailer of the movie mentioned in subject of this thread and instantly fell in love. Found the movie, but the subtitles do not exist and I mean, anywhere. I would like to buy the movie on amazon.com but they don't keep it.
Can someone direct me to English subtitles or the movie :ohno:? Do eng-subs exist or am I supposed to start learning Finnish (not that this is any sort of a problem, I LOVE Finland , but the time now is of an essence)?

Thank you

You wanna do my homework?

To the film

According to IMDB it has been filmed in English....some guy wrote this:

It was released by Disney in Finland and filmed also in English, so just keep asking from your country's Disney office to release it :D

You can order the DVD from these stores:
http://www.filmifriikki.fi/~iAFkx000000 ... 8011100002
http://www.cdon.com/product.phtml?prod=782069

http://www.suomikauppa.fi/product_info. ... ts_id=2928
(the page is in English
)'

I checked the links and they seem to be Finnish language DVDs with Swedish subtitles...So you could hunt for the English edition.

Did you check under the English title? The Matriarch?

Check this out
I really checked everywhere, literally, but all I see is a bunch of people with the subs requests for this movie.

This is going to sound brutal, but in here, we do not have the Disney's office.

Nothing here.
Considering the fact that I live in the country not integrated in EU, unfortunately, this is impossible.
I already had some issues before, obscure norsk music was on my wishlist

This could be something. I'll try to contact them, in hope they'll give me some feedback.

Of course.
Nothing :(

And as for last,

You do not know how Finnish language sounds beautiful to me. I actually do have a plan to learn it, from yksi-kaksi-... to lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas
Many years of listening your music made a serious damage to my taste in languages, as you can see.

Yeah, funny on a first glance

A guy just replied from suomikauppa.fi - no english subs. Svensk only.

Funny?...disturbing!

Well, maybe some other forum members can help you.

If you check IMDB there's a ton of threads with people asking there. It might be worthwhile keeping an eye on the IMDB forum to see if it is being released.

If you speak English (obviously you do) Swedish isn't tooo hard to understand so if you're really after the DVD you could get that and stick on the Swedish subs.

Hey,
i guess my post is a little bit late, but maybe you're reading it anyway.
Have you found those subtitles by now? And where did you get that movie? I can't find it...
