Re: World Cup 2010
You get the feeling that this whole WC is staged....Maicon should be off for that blatent dive, even though he is a great player

It's been like that in Holland for the past 10 or so years. Nothing new under the sun.

Yeah, rightkarel wrote:It's been like that in Holland for the past 10 or so years. Nothing new under the sun.

Who will be joining Holland in the final? I think Uruguay has stretched their luck, and they'll be playing without Suarez and Fucile and maybe two others.
So much for South American prowess... Diegito

That's like seeing the head of Jesus in the smoke clouds of the burning 9/11 towers...
Re: World Cup 2010
I'd bet on Spain. They've cross their mental barrier and if they can sustain Germany from scoring within the first 20 minutes they have a good chance.MagicJ wrote:Germany for the cup?
Re: World Cup 2010
Spain's set-up won't leave the midfield open for the Germans like the English and Argentine teams did. Plus, the psychic octopus reckons it's Spain that will prevail.ajdias wrote:I'd bet on Spain. Both teams actually didn't play versus really good teams so far imo.
England, Argentina and Portugal were all overrated with "stars" that never took off (Rooney, Ronaldo and Messi). But on how they won those games, Germany impressed me more than Spain so far.

Re: World Cup 2010
With that kind of accuracy, perhaps I should bet on Germany... I am hoping for Spain to win
Yes, Argentina was overrated, but that wasn't bc of Lionel. It was the idiot sitting in the bench, they have some of the finest and most experienced players (including the ones he choose to not to take with him).
With proper coaches Brazil and Argentina would be a bit harder to knock down - not that it couldn't happen, after all this is a cup trophy.

Come on you Käsekopfen.

So you rate Dunga and Maradonna...sinikala wrote:And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my Uncle.ajdias wrote:With proper coaches Brazil and Argentina would be a bit harder to knock down

Brazil had a quality team and were pre tournament favourites, and the Argies had a quality team with a world class strike force. Germany got turned over by mediocre Serbs.
If Spain can put any sort of pressure on the Germans then there will be only one winner.
Re: World Cup 2010
Nike weren't the only ones surprised by Dunga's choice to live Ronaldinho...
Re: World Cup 2010
Dunga was putting a bit less emphasis on the superstars and more on the system, he was just trying to learn the lessons of 2006 where the superstars were in no mood to play. Didn't work.simon wrote:So you rate Dunga and Maradonna...

Maradonna... well he is Maradonna, a savior in Argentina, a crackpot in the rest of the world.
Portugal is cursed with a Christiano Ronaldo who wants to be associated only with successes, not failures. So he is not the one to push when things are not going as they should. No manager will be able to clean that up. At least they don't have their pitiful acting performances aka "the opponent just broke my leg" anymore as with Scolari.
Spain is nowadays playing like Germany would like to play, technically solid, players who know their roles and places and an ability to find the opponent's weaknesses, so it's gonna be interesting what Del Bosque and Löw will be show tonight.
How did Spain fare vs the Swiss? And they were playing 11vs11, not 11vs10.simon wrote:If Spain can put any sort of pressure on the Germans then there will be only one winner.
I hope it will be a fair match tonight with no referee blunders. Yesterday evening was already a great match with suspense until the end.
