Child Vaccination :Private hospital in Espoo
Hi,
I have a big issue ,My child was born in India 2 months back and now my family is in Finland .
If we go to Medicity they say go to Neovala and Neovala says go to private hospital as there is no Kela card for the baby.
I am a bit annoyed with all this ping pong .
Please help me with any info on private hospitals which carry out the vaccination for outpatients.Vaccination fee is not an issue on my part .
All I want is to get access to this very basic healthcare without this KELA CARD....pissed off..
Regards,
Ajit

Didn´t you say at Medicity that neuvola doesn´t do it? That the baby is not covered by KELA?

Thanks ,
We did that ,we told them that we don't have Kela card then they said you need to go to some private one and we at medicity does not have this facility.
Kind of musical chair game.

What if you try some place like TerveysTalo or Diacor?ajit_ponds wrote:Thanks ,

Oh ok, I thought that Medicity is a private one. Diacor, Mehiläinen, Terveystalo, Pikkujätti, Ruusula.
But I am quite sure that Medicity is private, so I don´t understand.

I guess they don't have those vaccinations in their repertoire which almost every baby gets free from public system.EP wrote: But I am quite sure that Medicity is private, so I don´t understand.
Two suggestions to original poster which I'm not sure if either one of them would work:
* Did you try to ask specifically at the neuvola if they would give the shot for a fee - after all they have procedures for giving some optional shots which are not covered by the national vaccination program?
* Contact one of the private clinics again and ask, that even if it is not in their standard offerings, are they really unable to at least write you a prescription for the vaccine, and then administering the shot after you've ordered and paid for it in a pharmacy?

Certainly Mehilainen (Ruusula) has private Neovala. (The missus got pissed off with the public Neovala, so we now use Mehilainen)

Chicken pox is still only optional. Our Neuvola asked the doctor to write a presciption. Then we got ot from the chemists and brought it along to the Neuvola who then gave the jab. (This was public Neuvola )Cory wrote:We went this route before the chicken pox vaccine was given to Finnish children in the Neuvola. Neuvola didn't have the vaccine (nor were the nurses too enthusiastic about giving it 8 years ago) so we had to go to a private clinic.

Isn't there a large private children's health clinic in Tapiola?

Diacor will do it. They just expended their offices in iso omena for kids: http://www.diacor.fi/index.php?option=c ... &Itemid=41
Call them, explain which vaccination you need, and if you go without kela card you just pay the whole sum.

Meidicity is private but no vaccination available with them ,so we have to find another one.EP wrote:Oh ok, I thought that Medicity is a private one. Diacor, Mehiläinen, Terveystalo, Pikkujätti, Ruusula.

is it just the Kela card you don't have or the Finnish identity number? the neuvola wouldn't deal with me when I was heavily pregnant or with my newborn until we had identity numbers. but now we have them they gave her vaccinations fine without a Kela card. Not sure if they're going to send me a bill or what and didn't ask. figure if they do I'll pay it as she needs them. if they don't, great.

If you have a permanent identity no then Neovola access is available (which megistrate office gives only when you have a work permit/resident permit for 2 yrs at least) ,and if you have temporary identity number but still if you have Kela card ,they will treat you ..so its either permanent identity number or Kela card.Niblet wrote:is it just the Kela card you don't have or the Finnish identity number? the neuvola wouldn't deal with me when I was heavily pregnant or with my newborn until we had identity numbers. but now we have them they gave her vaccinations fine without a Kela card. I though to write this as it may help others.
Thanks a lot everyone ,one more time
