Hi!
I'm going to move very soon to Espoo and I have to do a new contract for electricity. I know that distribution is provided by Fortum in Espoo, but I'm free to decide which company to buy the electricity from.
Does any of you know Vattenfall? I checked their prices and it seems it's one of the cheapest company. The problem is that I've tried to contact the customer service 2-3 times and so far I haven't been able to talk with them
Do you know some other cheap companies?

My neighbours (in Espoo) seem all have changed from Fortum to Helsingin Energia lately. But if I am right, transfer is always through Fortum.

Has this system lowered electricity prices for Finnish household consumers?
Was it a good idea in the first place and has it been implemented well?
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

Odd, last time I have checked HelEn was on the expensive side of the scale. Also, they are evil coal burners, while others mix in cleaner sources.
Vattenfall was cheaper, but the economy I have calculated wasn't worth the trouble for me.

Last year, 50% gas, coal 33%, nuclear 10%, renewables 5%, oil 2%

More importantly, aren't supposed to be part of some 'cap and trade' ('päästökauppa') system by now? If so, then your personal choices have zero effect on total CO2 emissions. The 'cap and trade's 'cap' will set the CO2 emission level, after that if you reduce your CO2 output you're just making it cheaper for everybody else to emit CO2 while the total emissions remain constant.
