It so sad that it killed and ate that one worker before he could pull himself onto dry land.

Only The Glove Remains

Just imagine: fingertips on the shore already. He could feel it, but he was too weakened to pull himself to safety. And then the bacteria just ate him up -- bones, clothes, and all but the rubber gloves.

I wonder if it dissolved any of the chewing gum he had swallowed over the last seven years.
