Re: What are my rights to resign?

Post by Upphew » Fri Oct 01, 2010 8:04 pm

Hi Everyone,

Less than a month ago I entered into a fixed term, temporary contract for some freelance work. I have decided that I no longer wish to continue my cooperation with the company due to changing circumstances. I would like to know from those wiser than me, how much notice do I have to give so that I can take up full-time employment elsewhere. I have been offered full-time work somewhere else and they would like me to start in 2 weeks time.

I informed the current employer of my intention to end cooperation at the start of this week. The only text in the contract relating to resignation is as follows. This contract is subject to termination by any party, to be dissolved under mutual agreement with a mutual delay of 30 days.
Fixed term is fixed, no resignations, no firings. If you can negotiate otherwise and reach mutual agreement, then there is the mutual delay of 30 days as per your contract.
