Divorce and Residency Status

Hello everyone,

I have recently separated from my wife and we are in the process of getting a divorce. We have been married for one year and a half but the cultural differences have taken a huge toll on our relationship and so we've decided to part ways and have a clean break. My question is the following: will the divorce affect my residency status in Finland? I am on my second residence permit which is valid until 2013. I am also currently a student and would like to keep on living here in Finland permanently.

Well, I should rephrase that. We just saw that we were not compatible and therefore, decided to get divorced.
