*Lost apartment key* Please help

Post by wicked lewis » Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:13 pm

Hello everyone. WE are going to return the apartment we have been renting for quite some time and i have a little problem. It was provided 4 keys in the beggining and i lost one of them. The key opens the apartment door of course and also common outside door and bycicle room as well. What can possibly happen, is there any finnish law for this situation or does it depend on the rental companies? Of course theres a deposit that was paid in advance when the apartment was rented. Has this happened to anyone before? Thank you for the help.

Yes, seems to have happened before, you could try to put "lost key" to the search box, upper right hand corner of the page.

And guess why insurance companies don't consider the bicycle room as locked place...

Probably 200 Euros fine by the housing company

It's quite standard fine at many places

Don't think fines, think what has to be done to get the doors not to open with the lost key.

That's why you pay 200 euros or sth like that that the housing company should change the locks or take some other meaures to stop unauthorised use of the lost key, but mostly they just take the money and don't do anything and hope for the best.
