Finnish Banks offering free US Dollars Account. Help Please.
Hello
Does anybody know a Finnish Bank Account apart from Nordea that offers bank account in US Dollars. Nordea charges per month for keeping a foreign currency account and S-Panki where I hold my account in Prisma does not offer any foreign currency account.
Can you tell me a bank in Finland that offers American Dollar current account without monthly charges for maintaining an account.
Enjoy the evening
Best Regards

You can always have one that's not in Finland:

I think it's free if you keep a few thousand dollars in it

I have a USD account with Nordea and haven't been charged any fees for it. So, might want to double check with them.

Is that while having e.g. a loan from them, or otherwise being a 'key' customer? Just about all banks charge something for anything besides maybe the most basic services, unless you're bringing some other type of business to them.Illiniguy wrote:I have a USD account with Nordea and haven't been charged any fees for it. Yes, Nordea says that their account service will be free if I maintain a balance of €30,000 or more at all times. For basic account, you must pay a monthly charge.FinnGuyHelsinki wrote:Is that while having e.g. a loan from them, or otherwise being a 'key' customer? I've got a lot less than 30,000 Euros in my account and haven't been charged for my USD account yet.

You must be under 29 years of age. My friend is 27 and he has been offered all services free of charge like netbanking codes, Visa Electron with K Plussa feature, Pounds Sterling Account. He has never accumulated over 1000 EUR in his account.Illiniguy wrote:I've got a lot less than 30,000 Euros in my account and haven't been charged for my USD account yet.
But I must pay because I am 33 and don't have a balance of 30,000.
I also heard that OP also offers foreign currency accounts. Going to check with them today.

whats the purpose of having a different currency in your account ?
Re: Finnish Banks offering free US Dollars Account. Help Ple
Because I earn in US Dollars and my salary goes to a bank in Dubai and from there I transfer it in Nordea US Dollar account. I manually exchange money when Euro is weaker against USD by using my net access codes. Otherwise, it will cost me big time.
Still, the question is unanswered. Can you open a bank account in USD free of charge?

you would get a better rate from a proper foreign exchange service e.g. http://www.hifx.co.uk/

I have a certain amount of euros and i would like to convert them to USD. What is the logic to do that and get as much as possible in USD. I'm not interesting in making money with currency trading.
Is now a good time to buy USD and from where? Does it make a difference?
Also not sure if my question is valid.
