Hello to all,
Please could someone advise me on how to proceed:
- I have recently got married 5 months ago in South America
- I am a EU citizen and I have been living here Finland for over 6 years
- I want to invite my partner to live in Finland and get a resident permit
The problem:
- I have recently given up a full-time secure job to pursue running a business here in Finland.
- For the last two years the business has been somewhat struggling under these economic circumstances. Although recently the business has started to see growth.
My concern:
I am worried that my financial creditability will not be so good for Mirgri - Finnish Immigration Services, as my salary is fairly low. Myself and my wife don't have a great deal of funds at our disposal. She is a trained Dentist and is currently learning Swedish, yet I feel all that will matter is our current financial situation to Mirgri. I am also worried about the time spent apart from my wife and us not being a family.
The opportunity:
Is it better for her to apply for a student visa or permit
a) because its quicker
b) it doesn't rely so much on my financial matters
c) its a hell of a lot cheaper
Any suggestions or advice would be very much welcome,
Warm regards,
Dublin

Re: Mirgri - financial matters and options
For a student visa your wife needs to have 6000 in the bank, so it does rely a lot on financial matters..

Thank you for your comments Upphew and Rowden.
6,000 euros might be easier than Mirgi going through our business accounts and realising there is nothing there. I think her trying to get on a course here has got to be the safest investment in regards to 'time spent' applying for her coming here.
The next worry is then trying to turn that Student Visa into a resident permit. That will have to be a battle for another day.

Studying can't be just some course, it has to lead into a degree.

Re: Mirgri - financial matters and options
You have to make minimum of 1500 euros a month in order to get your spouse over here....
that is looking at it only from a financial perspective!!
