People move primarily for love. Or at least it seems that way. That or they are masochists or are fleeing some sort of terror/issues from their own country.

For me it was primarily for love and also a bit because I couldn't stand Australia. Just like all places, you pretty much have to be a part of the place that you wish to move to, to be able to stay there. That's just the way how things are. I take it that you read the article that I posted about the British family. Funnily enough you would think that because we're part of the Commonwealth and we still let GB boss us around that you would be entitled to some sort of 'minor queue cutting' if you were a British citizen. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I've seen many Brits get turned around for some of the darn'dest reasons ever. New Zealanders too, the same goes for everyone... Australia has seen in the past what happens when they just open their doors to more-or-less anyone and everyone. So we've now done the opposite. That isn't to say that I haven't seen some people get away with murder for the dumbest reasons ever.

I don't know how old you are now, but I would assume from your qualifications that you are early to mid 20's like me. By all means there is a path you can take to moving here you just have to ask yourself if it's worth it or not. Finland has it's perks, but it also has it's downsides like every country. I've told everyone who has wanted to move here the exact same thing. You wouldn't believe some of the people who have walked in here thinking that emigration to Finland is a god given right of theirs and that we better help or else. That kind of sociopathic attitude is the last thing any of us want here.

You on the other hand only need to front the proof that you have the money to stay here as well as the energy and time it will take for you to 'make it' here. Make it, meaning live.
On top of that you're going to have to jump through a lot of hoops. Unfortunately you won't cover for any benefits it seems so if you fall over then you're the one paying.

We speak from the 'accidents can happen' side mainly because even though it's a rare occurrence, it can be a completely life threatening/life crushing gamble to not take out the prerequisites before trying to move here. It took me numerous questions on the forums here as well as 8 months of intense study on everything that I need to know in order to be able to make it here. That isn't counting the last 5 years of just 'general interest' of Finland and fiddling around with watching movies and playing with words as well as actually getting to come here and meet people. It takes a lot of work and as everyone has said at least 100 times here. Your chances of success depend entirely on yourself and how much energy and effort you want to put into moving here. It seems that many people just wake up one day and spin a globe of the world and their finger rests on Finland as a place they want to call their new home.

One of the dumbest things I've ever read was one woman who was in the middle of selling her house, car and everything to try and move to Finland with her 3 year old son. She had no ties to Finland, she didn't want to study, she wanted to work. She couldn't marry a Finn because she was married, but separated and living apart from her 'separated husband' and yet her and her idiot estranged husband had put everything up for sale already in the belief that one could simply just move here and ask the Police/Immigration department nicely if they could stay. No ties, no proper reason, both American only American citizens and no brains. Their main questions were about things that they had to do once they were here and how they would do them, not even that they would be swimming back home after their tourist visas ran out.

It's up to you mate. You have an internet connection, you've asked some questions but how badly do you want to move here.. how badly really?

I̶f I can find any way to insult someone, believe me I will.
