Umm where you got your info? Both are from Gällivare, Gällivare, Sweden. 30sec of googling gave that info.tuulen wrote:I cheated on this one, as this one is not Finnish.
The vocalists are Sámi (Saami), from Porsanger, Finnmark, Norway.
Yet Porsanger is home to Kven Finns, too.
Rievssat (The Grouse)
But it is such a tasty musical piece in 3/4 time that I just had to include it, here.

You could be right, onkko. I did not investigate, but it appeared that they were from Norway.onkko wrote:Umm where you got your info? Both are from Gällivare, Gällivare, Sweden. 30sec of googling gave that info.tuulen wrote:I cheated on this one, as this one is not Finnish.

(Below the clip, click on "Show more", and then "Tags" shows Porsanger, not Gällivare, and so it looked like they were from Norway.)
Yet it is a pretty piece in musical 3/4 time, and Gällivare, Sweden is also home to Meänkieli Finns, too!
OK, so I cheated on this one, but perhaps not TOO much. ;-)

OK, Jukka, just for you...Jukka Aho wrote:That was the whole point of suggesting them, of course.tuulen wrote:But they are Sámi, too
Here is a well written and very nicely performed piece by Sámi from Angeli, Finland.
Edit: Much younger Angeli girls + Kautokeino girl, but notice that man and boy wear Sámi hat of four winds.

The grand kantele, the 38-string kantele is the biggest of them all. Kalevala hymn and Konevitsan kirkko

That was the other one, other being Suvivirsi, that got sung in every spring at school's closing ceremonies... and all the boys put extra effort on the "Karjalasta kajahtaa!" part. Karjalasta kajahtaa was also used as slogan for Karjala beer, that I have boycotted since Hartwall decided to shut down the Lappeenranta brewery.tuulen wrote:Karjalaisten laulu
